On June 16, 2026, Eric Fehrmann has been honored with the second place of the young investigators award of the „Freunde des IHP e. V.“ for his Diploma thesis about “Compact Model Testing and Electrical Characterization of Reconfigurable Field Effect Transistors-based Circuits” which has been worked out under the supervision of Juan Martinez at NaMLab gGmbH.

Throughout his work Eric Fehrmann investigated a novel compact model for an RFET and validated it against measurement data from available devices. Subsequently, he developed a reconfigurable flip-flop and adapted the design to facilitate future electrical characterization. A key circuit-level concept set-up is the reconfigurable inverter/follower, which can either invert the input signal or pass it through unchanged.

NaMLab gGmbH acknowledges the financial support in parts of this work by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space BMFTR.
